Dr Ravikumar Govindan
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Researcher
I joined the GBernardes group at iMM, Lisbon, in April 2020 as a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Researcher. My research work is mainly focused on the development of NIR based theranostic tools for prostate cancer.
I received my Master's degree in chemistry from Madurai Kamaraj University, India, (2010–2012), then worked short term at SRF Limited, India, on the synthesis of aliphatic fluorochemicals.
Then, I moved to IISER Pune to pursue my doctoral studies under the supervision of Prof. Harinath Chakrapani (2013–2019) with a CSIR fellowship, where I worked on the development of small organic molecules for controlled generation and monitoring of short-lived biological species, such as reactive nitrogen (NO), oxygen (ROS) and sulfur (H2S, SO2) species. In June 2019, I joined the GBernardes group at iMM as a Postdoctoral Researcher with an FCT fellowship.
